CURRICULUM VITAE of KYRIAKOS LARKOS
Born in the village of Lisi on July 15th 1953 in a middle class family. The second child of a family of six, of George and Maria Larkou, of the Hadjipetri family
Studied at the Lisi primary school and later at the Ammochostos Technical School. He went into a military service of 32 months, serving at various camps of Ammochostos, Kerynia and Morfou
After the coup and the Turkish invasion following it he again joined the forces, playing an active role in the defence of the people of Cyprus. He worked as a photographer in various newspapers and managed to save a large part of his archives of never-seen-before as well as revealing photographs.
He married to Orthodoksia Perikleous and had two children, George and Konstantinos. He founded the company “Photo Studio Kiriakos Ltd”, “Photo Larko” in 1984 and up to today he contributes to the people of Pafos as well as of Cyprus in general.
The studio has been involved in a wide aspect of issues and cooperated with large organisations for photographing or filming events that played their role in our island’s recent history.He was one of the founders of “ODISSEIA” club in 1996, aiming to support missing persons’ families as well as the exposure of the Cyprus problem abroad. The making of a movie for the problem is also part of the club’s causes, the earnings of which will be used by the club’s other causes.
In his immediate plans is the putting together of an exhibition for photographs of military content which will be carried out in cooperation with GEEF for never-before-seen photographs from military drills and parades. In 1994 we were the first to introduce panoramic photography in the island. Through the reliability and quality of our work we managed to win the trust of large organisations. |
